Аннотации
Kino Classics [Blu-Ray]The Russian poet Andrei Gorchakov, accompanied by guide and translator Eugenia, is traveling through Italy researching the life of an 18th-century Russian composer. In an ancient spa town, he meets the lunatic Domenico, who years earlier had imprisoned his own family in his house for seven years to save them from the evils of the world. Seeing some deep truth in Domenico's act, Andrei becomes drawn to him. In a series of dreams, the poet's nostalgia for his homeland and his longing for his wife, his ambivalent feelings for Eugenia and her Italy, and his sense of kinship with Domenico become intertwined.

Поскольку это единственный на сегодняшний день отечественный лицензионный релиз, то не рекомендовать в коллекцию не могу. Сам взял и не жалею. Но коллекционеров только суперпуперрелизов (каким сам хотел бы быть, да свинство отечественных производителей мешает) хочу предостеречь: заявленный везде (в том числе и на родной полиграфии) 1.85:1 анаморф на поверку оказался даже меньше чем 1.66:1 леттербоксом с очень средненькой картинкой на уровне хорошего VHS. Неужели сложно было сделать нормальный трансфер с киноплёнки (вспоминаю другие, просто великолепные, издания РУССИКО куда болеее старых фильмов). Может кто знает, где в Москве их можно достать? ___ RE: С релизами Тарковского вообще фигня Автор: Victor Дата: 26.08.04 Всё, что знаю по этому поводу: "Ностальгия" от R.U.S.C.I.C.O. при всех явных недостатках лучше релиза Fox Lorber (звук DD 5.1 против 2.0 моно, хоть какие-то, но бонусы, картинка не хуже). Релизы Тарковского ("Зеркало" и "Жертвоприношение") от Kino Video очень средние. Картинка у "Соляриса" от Criterion действительно почетче, чем у наших производителей, но не так, чтобы уж на голову, а звук (субъективно) лучше у "Крупного плана". "Иваново детство" и "Зеркало" от R.U.S.C.I.C.O. есть в R7-копиях , нужно только поискать. Новый "Андрей Рублев" от "Крупного плана" очень неплох. И кстати, он тоже полный и авторский. Потому что "Страсти по Андрею" это не полная версия "Андрея Рублева", а просто другая. Да, в ней более длинная по метражу первая часть (собственно "Стасти по Андрею"). Но обе версии режиссерские и их отличие по времени связано не с цензурными ножницами, а с режиссерскими вариациями. Так что тем, кому интересны фильмы, нужно иметь обе версии. К сожалению, "Страсти по Андрею" у нас издавались только на видеокассетах и очень давно (причем, только первая часть, отдельно от второй). ___ Спасибо за информацию Автор: Pipopolam Дата: 26.08.04 Спасибо, немного успокоили Значит, смело берем Ruscico Картинка у "Соляриса" от Criterion действительно почетче, чем у наших производителей, но не так, чтобы уж на голову, Я видел скриншоты, разница заметна. dvdbeaver утверждал, что звук лучше у Criterion Все так, и вариант от КП у меня уже есть. А насчёт 5.1 звука как достоинство двд релиза, я с тобой не согласен, неплохо его иметь, но оригинальный моно звук , более ценен, я считаю.. НЕ знаю...Меня картинка "Жертвоприношения" устраивает полнстью, не ниже среднего считаю... По зеркало согласен полностью, у Руссико картинка лучше Картинка именно на голову выше у Criterion . Есть оба релиза , картинка разительно отличается... |

Обзор от Salon AV «НОСТАЛЬГИЯ» RUSCICO LBX 1.85:1, 16:9/DD5.1 (Р, Ит), Моно (Р, Ит)/Суб(P)/Дополнения/Зона 5 Изображение 4 Звук 4 Меню 4 Дополнения 6 DVD в целом 5 Кажется, что картины Тарковского просто насильно вынуждают смотреть себя молча и проникновенно. Диагноз «ностальгия» не имеет, по большому счету, отношения к месту или времени — человек мучается не потому, что куда-то уехал и ему хочется обратно. Человек такой, какой он здесь и сейчас, и мучение и отъезд — части одного процесса, а не причина и следствие. ИЗОБРАЖЕНИЕ. Жесткая картинка, которая, кажется, хочет стать черно-белой, так она иногда графична и контрастна. На темных сценах — нелегкое зерно. ЗВУК. Редкостно талантливый дубляж поверх отлично слышного эмоционального итальянского текста. В целом звук зажат, не идеален. Обе версии 5.1. заметно полноценнее монофонических, но в данной ситуации наличие аутентичного звука очень важно. Редкие пространственные эффекты чрезвычайно уместны и не довлеют над общей картиной. МЕНЮ & ИНФО. Меню неполноценно — звучит, но не всегда по делу, анимировано, но лишь частично. Зато в дополнениях все очень хорошо: интервью, фрагмент из дипломной работы Тарковского, фильмографии, фотоальбом, анонсы. DVD В ЦЕЛОМ. Неторопливая Италия не понимает, чем русская кручина отличается от банального сплина. А у нас, у русских, своя гордость — нас никто не понимает. Еще бы, мы и сами, как известно, не очень... У Олега Янковского даже спина гениальная, и от этого тоже деваться некуда... Время прошло, но это кино осталось великим. И оно, как и то время, нам не приснилось. |

Drastic brightness, color, and aspect ratio variances as well as subtitle translations leave a real dent in this films comparative appearance. Neither issue is recommended at this point. The Enter One looks strangely like the Artificial Eye - PAL release compared HERE (in fact, I'll bet it is a direct PAL port with Korean subs, menus added - note the 5 minute time difference). Both releases are dark, but the edge enhanced Fox/Lorber makes certain characters almost invisible while the anamorphic Enter One is significantly brighter it is also considerably hazier. The Enter One is cropped on all 4 edges and like the Fox/Lorber leaves a black border around the frame limiting horizontal resolution. Audio is quite poor on both but distractingly so on the Enter One. We may pick-up the Ruscico edition although I'm not expecting it to be much better. Let's be patient and wait for a superior release. If you are forced to get a DVD copy to view the film, then we apprehensively recommend the Artificial Eye PAL release HERE since the 2nd disc supplements also include - Tarkovsky's own documentary "Tempo di viaggio" (1983) and the feature-length documentary by Italian director Donatella Baglivo. - Henrik Sylow |

Меню (Blu-Ray):  blu-ray.com Nostalghia Blu-ray, Video Quality 3.5 of 5 For such a highly anticipated release, Kino-Lorber's treatment of Nostalghia is slightly disappointing, if only because you can easily imagine the film looking better than it does here. This is not to say that Kino's 1080p/AVC-encoded transfer isn't the best Nostalghia has ever looked on home video—it is, and it's vastly better than prior DVD (and VHS!) releases—only that there's still room for improvement. It's Kino's custom to largely present film prints or their original negatives "as-is," making minor color/contrast adjustments but not providing any additional restoration work of their own. That is, if a film has been restored, that work is typically done by whoever supplies Kino with the materials. This is opposed to, say, The Criterion Collection, who do painstaking frame-by-frame restorations in-house. In any case, Nostalghia—which has been newly remastered in HD from archival 35mm elements, according to the back of the Blu-ray case—could use a bit of a cleanup. Specks and small scratches and bits of debris occasionally dot the frame, and you'll even see a few hairs stuck around the edges. There's a general grubbiness here that could almost certainly be attenuated with some careful digital tidying. All that said, Nostalghia still impresses in high definition for the first time. Clarity sees a significant boost—you'll notice previously unseen fine detail in closeups—and Tarkovsky's bleak color palette, which veers from stark monochrome to muted, moody hues and everything in between, is beautifully reproduced. The 35mm grain structure is intact as well, and there are no signs of edge enhancement or overly harsh compression. This isn't the best the film could look, but it will definitely do until Nostalghia makes its inevitable 4K debut sometime in the indeterminate future. Nostalghia Blu-ray, Audio Quality 3.5 of 5 Like the print, the film's Linear PCM 2.0 track exhibits some signs of age—a low level hiss here and there, a bit of light crackling—but nothing detrimental or harsh. Dialogue, which is primarily in Italian with a smattering of Russian, is generally well-balanced and unhindered. The biggest benefit the uncompressed codec brings is to Tarkovsky's use of music, particularly Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, which sounds bold and appropriately jarring in its context here. The disc includes optional English subtitles, which appear in easy-to-read white lettering. Nostalghia Blu-ray, Special Features and Extras 0.5 of 5 It's unfortunate that Kino-Lorber couldn't source any extras for the disc—besides a high definition trailer—as this is the sort of film that cries out for a scholarly commentary track and some archival interview clips from the director. Better yet, it would've been fantastic if Kino could've secured the rights to Voyage In Time, the documentary Tarkovsky and screenwriter Tonino Guerra made about the making of Nostalghia. Nostalghia Blu-ray, Overall Score and Recommendation 4.0 of 5 Andrei Tarkovsky's second-to-last film captures the sublime feeling of longing that aches in the back of our brains whenever we're away from who and what we love. Nostalghia is a beautiful—if difficult—experience, slow and overwhelming and jarring in unexpected ways, and its influence is perhaps most fully felt in the recent films of Terrence Malick, which deal with similar intangibilities of existence. Kino-Lorber's new Blu-ray edition is not quite as comprehensive—or cleaned up—as it could be, but this release belongs in every cinephile's collection. Highly recommended. dvdtalk.com THE BLU-RAY Video: Kino's Blu-ray of Nostalghia boasts a new high-definition transfer mastered in 1080p at a 1.66:1 aspect ratio. The print was made from "archival 35mm film elements," and I am sure will cause some debates. Colors are vivid, and resolution is crisp, with an impressive level of detail. One can peer deep into the scenes, looking as far back as the stony corridors and foggy landscapes will allow. There is, however, consistent surface noise on the image. Lots of cracks and pops that become less evident as the film wears on, though it's hard to tell if that's just because the source material simply gets better or if, as a viewer, my eyes adjusted. Personally, this kind of thing doesn't bother me, particularly as the transfer does allow for the incredible beauty that Tarkovsky was striving for. Look particularly at the scenes where Andrei is underground in the flooded ruin. There is that lingering shot of the rippling water, the bubbles, and the trash, with the light from above reflecting on the surface--it's breathtaking in HD. Sound: The Italian soundtrack has been remixed for 2.0 and sounds really good. There are no tonal issues, no distortion, and dialogue is complete and easy to discern. Ambient noise is nicely placed in the mix, allowing for an immersive viewing experience despite not having a more complex audio track. Optional English subtitles are provided. Extras: Just the theatrical trailer. FINAL THOUGHTS: Highly Recommended. Andrei Tarkovksy's Nostalghia is a personal work from an artist struggling with his own failures and banishment from the country where he was born. Shot in Italy, the Russian director's rumination on home and regret follows two men with separate yet compatible mental afflictions. They are both deluded in their own ways, appropriately crazy in a world out of balance, seeking answers for what they have lost and reconciling their own responsibility for their conditions. Nostalghia is deliberately paced, demanding its audience's attention, yet providing much to pay attention to. dvdbeaver.com Kino Lorber - Region 'A' - Blu-ray (January 2014): Kino's new Blu-ray of Tarkovsky's Nostaghia shows itself very favorably as compared to the weaker SD releases. Colors are exported more realistically, detail and contrast improve (very notable in the black and white sequences), there are more film textures and we get a smidgeon of additional information within the, very specific, 1.66:1 frame. There are still some speckles but Nostaghia is certainly a film that demonstratively benefits from a 1080P transfer - the film is filled with so many beautiful shots. Kino offer a decent linear 2.0 channel PCM in the original Italian. Nostalghia features wonderful music by Ludwig van Beethoven and Giuseppe Verdi (Requiem), as well as Russian folk songs. Beethoven's Ninth Symphony is featured prominently and all of this advances under the lossless rendering. It really brings the imagery together beautifully. There are optional English subtitles on the region 'A'-locked disc. Unfortunately, the only extra is a trailer but I have to admit seeing the film in the improved video and substantially improved audio was close to seeing it for the very first time. Magnificent. Tarkovsky fans should snap this Blu-ray up and let's keep our fingers crossed for more of the director's work in 1080P. Please. - Gary W. Tooze |
